offering support in the weeks after birth

why hire a postpartum doula?

From our initial meeting all the way through your pregnancy and homecoming, I take the time to get to know you, your concerns and your needs. I’m always available to contact by phone/email throughout and will provide everything you require to make sure your experience of new or expanding parenthood is as calm and positive as possible. I am here to offer you nonjudgemental support and education around newborn care. As your doula, I will provide the support and peace of mind needed to help you maximize your confidence in yourself and your new role.

As a certified Lactation Educator, I can answer many questions you may have about breastfeeding, and help you and your new child develop this beautiful and often challenging relationship.

I will assist with partners and big siblings as they also adjust to their new roles in your expanding family.

I offer light housekeeping assistance (taking out the garbage, changing over laundry, tidying the kitchen, running a quick vacuum) to help take your mind off of your less urgent duties and help maintain a peaceful home.

I am trained to watch for and recognize the early signs of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADS), and will walk with you on this journey if more help is needed than I can provide. I will encourage and help to facilitate realistic and achievable parental sleep and self-care.

Doula is an ancient Greek word meaning, “a woman who serves”. Allow me to nurture you, so that in turn, you will be better equipped to nurture your own baby. You deserve a doula.
